چکیده

We generalize the classic dynamic single-item search model to multiple items and vector offers for subsets. We first show a computationally feasible way to solve the dynamic optimization problem, and then prove structural results. Although assignment is not generally monotonically increasing in offer value, we show that, in a special case “additive” model, monotonicity holds if costs are submodular. We examine how the thresholds for assignment change with the remaining items, and whether there are gains to grouping searches. Finally, we consider a stopping rule version of the problem with no subsets for sale, showing the optimal policy is myopic. JEL Classification Numbers: C61, D83.

A Gravitational Search Algorithm-Based Single-Center of Mass Flocking Control for Tracking Single and Multiple Dynamic Targets for Parabolic Trajectories in Mobile Sensor Networks

Developing optimal flocking control procedure is an essential problem in mobile sensor networks (MSNs). Furthermore, finding the parameters such that the sensors can reach to the target in an appropriate time is an important issue. This paper offers an optimization approach based on metaheuristic methods for flocking control in MSNs to follow a target. We develop a non-differentiable optimizati...

Dynamic Models for Selling Multiple Items∗

We study the optimal strategy for selling multiple items in a setting where bidders can bid for individual items and for subsets of items. There is a large literature examining search problems with a single good, but few papers that generalize the problem to vector offers for subsets of items. One of the challenges in extending to multiple goods is that, as the state space expands, the problem ...

Malmquist Productivity Index with Dynamic Network Structure

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) measures the relative efficiency of decision making units (DMUs) with multiple inputs and multiple outputs. DEA-based Malmquist productivity index measures the productivity change over time. We propose a dynamic DEA model involving network structure in each period within the framework a DEA. We have previously published the network DEA (NDEA) and the dynamic DEA ...

Minimizing the supplying cost of leverage items: a mathematical approach

In the new competitive environment, selecting and planning of the supply chain is very crucial and involves evaluation of many factors. Different approaches have been applied to assess the supplier/s. Most of these studies are based upon the supplier/s' capabilities. It may be neither rational nor economical to deal with each item via a generic material control system. Furthermore, supplier...

Measuring a Dynamic Efficiency Based on MONLP Model under DEA Control

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a common technique in measuring the relative efficiency of a set of decision making units (DMUs) with multiple inputs and multiple outputs. ‎‎Standard DEA models are ‎‎quite limited models‎, ‎in the sense that they do not consider a DMU ‎‎at different times‎. ‎To resolve this problem‎, ‎DEA models with dynamic ‎‎structures have been proposed‎.‎In a recent pape...
